Introduction

These Terms & Conditions outline the policies and guidelines for participating in sessions, programs, and services offered by Saskia Struik – Be Free, Assisting Human & Equine Wellness.
By booking or attending a session (in-person or online), you agree to the terms described below.
If you have any questions, please contact me directly prior to scheduling.

1. Session Booking
​
All sessions are by appointment only.
Bookings may be made through the contact form, email, or online scheduling platform.
New clients begin with a complimentary 30-minute Zoom conversation to determine the most suitable approach and rhythm of sessions.

2. Payments
​

Accepted Payment Methods: E-transfer (preferred) or PayPal.

Payment Timing:

For individual sessions: payment is due at the time of booking to confirm your appointment.

For multi-session plans: a deposit may be requested to reserve your schedule, with the balance payable in instalments.

Receipts: Electronic receipts are provided upon request.
-
Currency: All prices are listed in Canadian Dollars (CAD).

3. Cancellations & Rescheduling
​

24-hour notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling.

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged 50% of the session fee unless due to an emergency or unsafe travel conditions.

“No-shows” (missed appointments without notice) are charged the full session fee.

If Saskia must reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be offered an alternate date or a full refund if preferred.

4. Refunds
​

Single sessions: Non-refundable once service has been rendered.

Multi-session plans: May be refunded on a prorated basis for unused sessions if cancelled in writing.

Workshops or courses: Refunds and transfers are handled per event-specific terms (see course registration details).
Refunds are typically processed within 5–10 business days to the original payment method.

5. Travel Fees (for Equine Sessions)
​
Travel is based from Calgary, Alberta.
A modest travel fee applies for barn visits outside the local radius and may be shared among multiple clients at the same location.
Exact amounts are confirmed at the time of booking.

6. Online Sessions
​
Online sessions are conducted via Zoom.
Please ensure you have a stable internet connection and a quiet, private space.
You may record personal meditations or visualizations for your own use, but redistribution or public sharing of recorded materials is not permitted.
​
7. Multi-Session Plans & Discounts
​
Saskia offers discounted pricing for clients who commit to continued engagement (typically 4, 8, or 12 sessions).
These discounts reflect her commitment to sustainable, long-term transformation for people and horses.
Unused sessions in a discounted plan may be rescheduled within six months of the first appointment, unless otherwise agreed.

8. Professional Scope
​
All services are educational and complementary in nature.
They are designed to support relaxation, self-regulation, posture, and movement quality in both humans and horses.
They are not a substitute for medical or veterinary care, and Saskia does not diagnose, treat, or prescribe.
Clients are responsible for maintaining ongoing medical and veterinary relationships.

9. Health & Safety
​
For equine sessions:

Horses must be under the owner’s or guardian’s supervision and handled safely at all times.

Please ensure the work area is safe, quiet, and free from hazards.

Saskia reserves the right to stop a session if a horse or handler becomes unsafe to work with.
For human sessions:
-
Please inform Saskia of any relevant health conditions or injuries before each session.

You are responsible for listening to your body and communicating discomfort at any time.

10. Client Conduct
​
All sessions are conducted with mutual respect, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Discrimination, harassment, or unsafe behaviour will not be tolerated.
Saskia reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services in such cases.

11. Intellectual Property
​
All written materials, exercises, diagrams, and images provided during sessions or on this website remain the intellectual property of Saskia Struik.
You may use them for personal study and reflection only.
Reproduction, distribution, or teaching based on this material requires written permission.

12. Liability Waiver
​
By participating in any session or program, you acknowledge that you are voluntarily engaging in bodywork, movement, and/or mindfulness-based activities.
You understand these are non-diagnostic, educational practices and accept full responsibility for your own and your horse’s wellbeing during and after sessions.
To the extent permitted by Canadian law, Saskia Struik and Be Free – Assisting Human & Equine Wellness shall not be held liable for injury, loss, or damages resulting from participation.

13. Privacy & Data Protection

Your information is protected in accordance with the Privacy Policy outlined on this website and complies with Canadian PIPEDA standards.
Session notes and personal details are kept confidential and never shared without your consent.

These Terms & Conditions may be updated periodically to reflect best practices or changes in policy.

Horses receiving ongoing veterinary attention are always worked with in accordance with the attending veterinarian’s guidance to ensure a safe, integrated approach.
Session Boundaries & Client Responsibility

Clients are responsible for:

Consulting their health-care or veterinary professional for any medical concerns

Informing me of relevant health or behavioural conditions before each session

Following safe handling practices during equine session.
